Recent electric car startups like Faraday Future and Lucid Motors have not done too well in 2017. However, there is a new kid on the block and it does look promising. It’s Byton! It is well financed by Chinese investors and has some top executives from Tesla, BMW and other successful car brands. Byton will be unveiling its very first car at the 2018 CES in Las Vegas in the next couple of days. I’ll be there to cover it for you!
The few preview images of the car showcase its hi tech dashboard which is made entirely out of a huge touch screen. It’s expected to have about 300 miles in range and a Level 4 autonomous driving mode. It will also have some interesting features that are only now coming onto the electric car market. The ability to use gestures instead of touch, mood recognition, facial recognition for profile settings and many others are all cutting edge and exciting.
Byton says it’ll start production at the end of next year and will be selling, what looks like, the crossover vehicle in China, US and Europe. Stay tuned!
