It appears that I’m the first one to report this but all signs lead to Fisker Emotion unveiling at the CES 2018 being cancelled. I have reviewed and inquired about the list of exhibitors at the upcoming Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas and nobody can find Fisker as an exhibitor or a presenter. I have reached out to Fisker for comments, and they usually are good at getting back to me, but this time it was not the case. After a few unsuccessful attempts, I finally got a hold of my contact and I was told that Fisker will not have a comment until later when they will release it to all of the media.
If you remember Fisker has originally beat Tesla to the market in 2012 with their Fisker Karma sedan but due to its high price, a very low electric range and a few other shortcomings went belly up after a few years. It has emerged out of bankruptcy with the new Emotion concept and the future seemed once again bright. Fisker has submitted a patent for, what seemed, a breakthrough battery technology a couple of months ago, and has announced a smart city shuttle called Orbit this month.
Is this just a temporary delay or misunderstanding, or is Fisker really in trouble again? We’ll have to wait and see!
