The New Nissan Leaf has positioned itself to have a big come back with its new look and the new range. The sales have started here in the United States, and Nissan claims that in Europe it has already received over 10,000 reservations. Not everyone was impressed with the improved range and many suggested that it should have been at least 200 miles. Well, today it looks like some of the internal documents have leaked from Nissan and from what they show the 2019 Nissan Leaf will have the extended range option of 225 miles. This is exactly what Nissan needed and the new range is now in the same 200+ mile category as Chevy Bolt and Tesla Model 3.
I have been a big critic of the previous generation of the Nissan Leaf but I’m very exited for its second generation. Of course, the biggest problem still facing the New Leaf is the lack of the active thermal management system. I expect Nissan to have an announcement about it some time this year. It has to be fixed.
