Elon Musk had one last Twitter session with his fans thanking them for the support and asking what features they would like to see in the Tesla fleet for the upcoming year. Needless to say, there was no shortage of requests. Surprisingly, Elon has replied to many of them with a promise to bring them into reality in 2018.
One of the most requested features that was promised by Musk turned out to be the rain sensing windshield wipers which is still not available in the 2nd generation of the Autopilot, while the AP 1.0 drivers have been enjoying this feature for a couple of years now. The inability of Tesla to catch up its 2nd generation autopilot to its 2 year old first generation autopilot has been one of the biggest disappointments of this year.
Another feature that I personally can’t wait for and it looks like I’ll be getting it soon, is the ability of the autopilot cameras to record their feeds onto a hard drive like a regular dashcam. As you know, I believe that a dashcam is one of the most important features of any car. New browser was also promised by Musk, a feature so bad that most of us have forgotten even exists after we stopped using it many years ago. A few other features including the ability to pre-heat some parts of the car with an app, and manage the automatic Bluetooth connection at home were also part of Elon Musk’s promises for the next year.
