Some news coming out about Tesla’s Model Y production schedule. Earlier this year Tesla started talking to potential suppliers about the upcoming production and now there are reports that the timeline for the production start is the end of 2019. Of course, this is based on some conversations with suppliers but those usually are a pretty good indicators about what is going to follow. Tesla Model Y is supposed to be the most anticipated car from the company and Elon Musk believes there will be a larger demand for this compact SUV than for its Model 3 sedan.
It looks like the production may start at the Fremont Factory which will be very much at capacity at that time but once the low volume line is ready to ramp up Tesla will move it into its own factory which for now is still being planned for China.
