Tesla has managed to steal the spotlight from all of the unveilings and announcements at the Geneva Motor Show by announcing that they will have its two Semi Truck prototypes do a real delivery run. Of course, Tesla is going to be its own customer on this one and the trucks will deliver batteries from the Gigafactory in Nevada to the main factory in Fremont, California.
It is not very often you see a prototype of an industrial car doing its real life run so soon after its unveiling.
Granted the route is about 250 miles long which is half of the 500 range that the Semi Truck is promised to have but it’s a great start. It should be also noted that most of that route is mainly downhill which should help as well.
